Job summary

RRD in Lancaster, OH is seeking an Assistant Press Operator to support Press Operators with press make ready, operation, and maintenance of sheet-fed or web offset presses. You will prepare setup materials, install plates and blankets, and perform routine press adjustments under guidance.

You will follow job specifications, use micrometers for plate alignment, and assist with color or register corrections to meet quality standards; high school diploma required, with at least 2 years of offset

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials.
• Able to read micrometer and mount printing plates correctly.
• Assists in adjusting press components to meet print quality specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with press make ready, operation, and maintenance of sheet-fed or web offset presses.
• Install plates and blankets on press cylinders using hand and power tools.
• Adjust feeder, delivery, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, and cams as needed.
• Wash blankets and clean ink distributing rollers and fountains using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism.
• Make color or register corrections and press adjustments prior to production run to meet quality specs.
• Maintain safety and proper operation per instructions.
• Read and follow job specifications to determine materials needed.
• Follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce desired product.
