Wildflowers Preschool in Portland, OR is seeking an assistant preschool teacher for a small home-based program serving ages 3–5. The role supports two lead teachers, with a 8:20–12:20 daily morning shift and potential substitute flexibility.
The ideal candidate must be 18+, register with the Oregon Criminal History Registry, and obtain Infant/Child CPR and first aid within 60 days plus a food handler card within 30 days. Trainings paid annually.
We are in need of an assistant preschool teacher for our small home-based preschool serving children ages 3‑5. Wildflowers Preschool opened 10 years ago in SE Portland (in the Creston neighborhood, also close to Woodstock) and we have 16 children per day with 2 lead teachers and one assistant. Our teaching philosophy is a mix of Reggio Emilia, Montessori and environmental education.
Must be at least 18 years old, be willing to register with the Oregon Criminal History Registry prior to starting, and be able to obtain Infant/Child CPR and first aid within the first 60 days and a food handlers card within the first 30 days.
This position is part time and is available immediately to cover a daily morning shift from 8:20‑12:20. Our ideal candidate would also have flexibility to work as a substitute. If hired, the person in this position will be expected to take 24 hours of continuing education each year. The trainings will be paid.
