Position: Assistant Teacher

2. Hourly compensation is $14.00 to $16.00, depending on experience and education
3. Set Schedule (8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday)
4. Closed Weekends, Nights and Holidays
5. Progressive PTO: 40 hours 1 year, 80 hours 2-5 years, 120 hours 5+ years

Job Responsibilities:

1. Foster curiosity, creativity, and compassion in children while helping them develop a lifelong love of learning.
2. Create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence.
3. Guide children through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.
4. Assist with potty training as needed.
5. Build genuine relationships with each child.
6. Help children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and more.
7. Work with your co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning curriculum.
8. Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
9. Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.

Qualifications:

1. Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency.
2. Background screening required.
3. 1 year previous teaching or assistant teaching position in early childhood education, childcare, daycare, preschool, or PreK program preferred.
4. Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
5. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
