The Goddard School is seeking a motivated Assistant Director for our San Francisco location. A BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field with management experience in a licensed childcare setting is required, along with knowledge of CA licensing requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and a passion for early childhood education, with responsibilities spanning operations, staff scheduling, and classroom supervision for infants through preschool.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with 18 semester hours in coursework for young children birth to age 8, plus management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Site Supervisor/Director permit.
• Infant Units.
• Prior assistant director experience in a Preschool setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team builder and commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, staff scheduling and facility operations.
• Developing strong relationships with families.
• Complying with state childcare licensing regulations.

The Goddard School located in 1700 Montgomery St, Suite 100, San Francisco CA 94111 is looking for a motivated self-starter for an Assistant director’s position. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is required. Must be aware of CA licensing requirements. A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.

Qualifications:

• BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field including 18 semester hours of completed coursework, including 12 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Site Supervisor/Director permit.
• Infant Units.
• Prior assistant director experience in a Preschool Setting
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

• Proficient in basic computer skills using Microsoft office, Outlook, Canva.

To be considered for the open position you must have:

• Minimum of 12 months working experience in a large center environment.
• ACTIVE and CLEAR DOJ LIVESCAN REQUIRED.
• Mandated Reporter Certification.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• A current physical examination by a Physician, including a current tuberculin test.
• Must submit accurate shot record including MMR, T-dap and Influenza.
• An approved criminal record check as required by state regulations.
• Complete California state required health clearance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
