Job summary

Mountain Lakes Country Day School in New Jersey is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Full-Time Assistant Teacher to join our PreK classroom. You will be working alongside one other assistant to support a group of 24 children, aged 4-5 years old.

This role offers a calm, nurturing environment with developmentally appropriate activities and opportunities for professional growth. The schedule is Monday through Friday with hours 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and benefits including paid time off and ongoing

• You should have a genuine passion for working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Support a calm and nurturing environment as children transition from structured activities to the afternoon routine
• Engage children in quiet, developmentally appropriate activities, such as reading, puzzles, art, or imaginative play
• Assist with snack time, including setup, cleanup, and helping children with basic needs
• Supervise indoor and outdoor free play, ensuring safety and encouraging positive social interactions
• Clean and organize the classroom at the end of the day, including sanitizing toys and wiping down surfaces
• Support a smooth and safe dismissal process, ensuring each child is signed out with the correct authorized adult
• You should have a genuine passion for working with young children. This full-time position is available 5 days per week, with hours from 9:00AM-5:00PM.

Mt. Lakes Country Day School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Full-Time Assistant Teacher to join our Prek classroom. You will be working alongside one other assistant to support a group of 24 children, aged 4-5 years old.

Schedule

Responsibilities include participating in developmentally appropriate activities such as tabletop and floor play, reading, art projects, and more.

About Us

Mountain Lakes Country Day School provides quality care for infants, ages 6 weeks to 18 months; toddlers, ages 18 to 36 months; preschoolers, ages 3 to 4 years, and kindergartners, ages 4 to 6 years. Classrooms are broken down by age group and activities are planned for small groups on the principles of developmentally appropriate practices using The Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies.Our center is open all year with limited closings for holidays and staff training.
