Job summary

The Growing Years of Greensboro is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our licensed childcare team serving Pre-K aged children. You will support the lead teacher and help create a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, the ability to pass all background checks, and at least one year of experience in a licensed childcare setting. Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm. $16–$17/hr based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that support growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and make improvements to the program as needed.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish a professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation: $16-$17/hr, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
