Job summary

Meeder Investment Management in Dublin, OH is seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager to support the day-to-day management of fixed income portfolios for a diverse client base. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in finance or economics, 1–3 years in asset management or fixed income, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Bloomberg and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in asset management, trading, or fixed income research is a plus.
• Strong financial and credit analysis skills relevant to fixed income securities and portfolio support functions.
• Familiarity with key economic indicators and interest rate dynamics impacting fixed income markets.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Excel, and other research platforms.
• Experience with portfolio management systems (e.g., Bloomberg, MarketAxess).
• Progress towards or possession of a professional designation such as CFA, CMT, or an advanced degree (e.g., MBA).

Responsibilities

• Support the management and trading of short-duration fixed income portfolios, including U.S. Treasuries, agencies, investment-grade corporates, municipals, securitized products, CDs, and money market instruments.
• Assist in ensuring portfolios are managed consistently across accounts, aligning with target allocations and individual client guidelines.
• Help maintain Broker-Dealer relationships and contribute to the execution of trades with a focus on market coverage and pricing efficiency.
• Conduct research and analysis of fixed income sectors and individual securities, with attention to macroeconomic factors, interest rate outlooks, and sector fundamentals.
• Provide analytical and operational support to senior portfolio managers and collaborate with client service and business development teams to deliver customized portfolio solutions.
• Participate in the development and implementation of fixed income strategies across LGIPs, Money Market Funds, and Separately Managed Accounts.
• Contribute to internal reporting, market commentary, investment memos, and credit reviews as needed.
