WIN Waste Innovations is currently looking for an Assistant Plant Operator. This person is a confident, enthusiastic, and responsible individual. They will operate boilers and auxiliary plant equipment locally throughout the plant, making necessary adjustments to maintain safety, efficiency, and continuous plant operations while adhering to environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Operator in daily plant operation and maintenance, investigate instrument readings and equipment operation, and notify supervisors of issues.
• Perform turbine/generator APC and critical inspections as per procedures, recognize and address operational difficulties, and adapt to changing plant conditions for safety and efficiency.
• Maintain logs and documentation to track problems, work performed, and plant activities, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Operate demineralization systems, perform water testing and treatment, and adjust chemicals based on laboratory results.
• Operate APC systems safely and accurately, troubleshoot with maintenance, and optimize system performance.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Complete required training programs within specified timeframes.
• Foster a positive work environment through professional communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; higher education is desirable.
• 2 years of power plant operation experience or 3 years related experience.
• Mechanical skills for tasks like equipment inspection and maintenance.
• Understanding of steam power plant operation.
• Ability to maintain a positive work environment.

Certificates and Licenses

• Licenses as required by regulatory agencies.
• For Massachusetts: 3rd Engineer's and Hoisting License or ability to obtain within 9 months.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Includes exposure to noise, and physical activities such as standing, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and operating in confined spaces. PPE is required for adverse conditions.
