WIN Waste Innovations is currently seeking an Assistant Plant Operator. This role requires a confident, enthusiastic, and responsible individual who will operate boilers and auxiliary plant equipment, making necessary adjustments to ensure safety, efficiency, and continuous plant operations while complying with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Operator in daily plant operation and maintenance, investigate instrument readings and equipment operation, and notify supervisors of issues.
• Perform turbine/generator APC and other critical inspections, recognize operating difficulties, and adapt to changing conditions to maximize safety and efficiency.
• Maintain logs and documentation to track problems, work performed, and plant activities.
• Operate and adjust the demineralization system, perform water testing and treatment, and record data accurately.
• Operate APC systems safely and accurately, troubleshoot problems, and work with maintenance teams as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Complete required corporate and plant training programs.
• Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; higher education is desirable.
• 2 years of experience in power plant operation or 3 years related experience.
• Mechanical skills for tasks like replacing shear pins and inspecting equipment.
• Understanding of steam power plant operations.

Certificates and Licenses

• Licenses as required by local, state, federal, and safety agencies.
• For Massachusetts, must obtain or hold a 3rd Engineer's and Hoisting License within 9 months.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Includes exposure to noise, the need for PPE, physical activities like climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating in confined spaces, and working at heights.
