Job summary

Stark Recruiting Partners is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for a packaging/processing facility in Baytown, TX. You will oversee safety, production, quality, and reliability while acting as Plant Manager in their absence.

The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing leadership, a chemical or mechanical engineering background, and strong coaching skills to develop a high-performing team. Competitive pay and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of reliability principles and maintenance KPIs.
• Ability to lead multiple departments and coach staff.

Responsibilities

• Drive a zero-incident safety culture through leadership, safety observations, and accountability; manage OSHA reporting and compliance.
• Monitor plant operations 24/7 across all departments; ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer commitments are met.
• Drive continuous improvement in food safety and quality; close audit findings and maintain regulatory compliance (AIB).
• Champion equipment reliability by moving from reactive to preventive maintenance; track maintenance KPIs.
• Manage operating budget; review variances and identify cost reduction opportunities; enforce spending within budgets.
• Drive 5S and Lean initiatives; lead waste reduction projects to improve throughput and working conditions.
• Directly lead a team of 6 supervisors and 1 on-site engineer; provide coaching and development plans.
• Serve as primary decision-maker when Plant Manager is absent; interface with corporate leadership and customers.
