Job summary

48forty Solutions is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to help run our Atlanta facility, focusing on safety, quality, service and cost. You’ll lead production staff and work closely with plant leadership to drive results.

This role requires hands-on leadership, a background in plant/warehouse supervision, and experience with transportation coordination. Bachelor’s degree preferred and a proven ability to manage people and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred for the role.
• 3+ years in a plant/warehouse supervisory position.
• Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation helps.
• Strong people management capabilities for non-exempt staff.
• Experience supervising safety programs and performance.
• Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Manage the work of all production employees.
• Oversee production and shipping schedules based on material availability.
• Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager.
• Make employment decisions at the facility.
• Support plant administration to ensure policy compliance.
• Oversee cost and yield performance with P&L awareness.
• Lead cost-control initiatives and process improvements.
• Review operations including local transportation for compliance.
• Drive safety improvements across the plant.
• Maintain quality and material utilization to protect profitability.
• Lead and motivate plant staff and delegate tasks.
• Assist with recruiting and staff development.
• Drive efficiencies via transportation scheduling, dispatch, and driver management.
