48forty Solutions is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to oversee plant operations in Phoenix, driving safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting plant leadership and recruiting efforts. You will manage production staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure policy compliance to meet budgeted cost and yield targets.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a supervisory role, strong people management skills, and familiarity with transportation operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a plant/warehouse supervisory role.
• Experience managing safety performance and programs.
• Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful.
• Expert people management capability including non-exempt production workforce.

Responsibilities

• Manage the work of all production employees.
• Oversee production and shipping schedules based on raw and finished goods availability.
• Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager.
• Directly responsible for all employment decisions at the facility.
• Support plant administration to ensure compliance with established policies.
• Responsible for cost and yield performance in partnership with the overall P&L.
• Support and implement cost-control initiatives and process control within the Plant.
• Review operations and local transportation to comply with laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD).
• Drive safety improvements across the Plant.
• Maintain quality and raw material utilization standards to support customer satisfaction and plant profitability.
• Provide leadership to Plant staff and motivate, delegate, and monitor activities.
• Assist with recruiting and training of staff.
• Drive efficiencies through transportation scheduling, dispatch, and driver management.
