Your Role
As Assistant Plant Manager, you will support the Plant Manager by guiding the successful completion of plant-wide programs and projects. Your Responsibilities
- Manage operations, including food safety, plant quality, customer experience, employee and asset safety, plant security, plant environmental, cost savings, continuous improvement, adoption of initiatives, and innovation that generate world-class efficiencies and competitive positioning
- Lead a zero-loss culture, assuring a safe working environment and compliance with all EHS and Food Safety Standards
- Formulate or approve short- and long-term operating objectives in areas such as cost reduction, quality improvement, new product development, and/or integration
- Drive customer execution to deliver results that meet quality and customer service objectives
- Develop strong customer interaction and relationships
- Collaborate across all functions to achieve optimal total business margin for the plant and the enterprise
- Provide positive labor relations management, contract negotiation, and/or union avoidance
- Identify operational discrepancies and provide focused solutions with a timeline for corrective action
- Work with the plant team to continuously improve maintenance and reliability programs, the production process, safety, production costs, and product quality by implementing best and standard practices
- Work with facility staff and corporate functional leads to plan and execute plant-managed capital improvements
- Communicate business results and identify gaps for improvement of key metrics

- Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality standards, safety, and sanitation practices
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years or High School diploma/GED with 6-8 years of experience in flour milling or related manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in continuous improvement methodologies, tools, trends, and best practices
- Ability to use metrics to drive change
- Experience with assembly or process manufacturing
- Experience with process optimization
- Familiarity with safety, environmental, and regulatory policies
- Success in project management, including developing capital plans and managing projects from planning to completion
Good to Have
- Additional 2-4 years of experience with increased responsibility
- Ability to create, modify, and write specifications, training materials, and best practices
- Willingness to develop and broaden knowledge of relevant areas
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to wear PPE as required
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a machine-paced, continuous process environment 24/7 with conditions such as heat/cold, indoor/outdoor, dusty, noisy, and involving movement or vibration
- Ability to perform work at a computer and handle administrative tasks
Other Considerations
- 10-25% travel required
- Willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as needed
- Willing to relocate for promotional opportunities
- Passing pre-employment background check and/or drug test required
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
