Careers and Highline Warren seeks an Assistant Plant Manager in Council Bluffs, IA to lead blending, packaging, maintenance and distribution operations. You will implement strategic plans and ensure a safe, quality and efficient operation.

This role also develops and executes expense and capital budgets for the facility. You will drive continuous improvement, lead lean manufacturing programs, and collaborate with EHS and HR to maintain compliance and foster a productive workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • Five years manufacturing experience; or any satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the vision for the facility to align with corporate direction for the company.
  • Present data about the facility to upper management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop strategies for improving safety culture in the facility with EHS collaboration.
  • Lead lean manufacturing programs and sustain lean principles; manage scorecard goals.
  • Lead budgets: manage expenses and capital budgets; oversee storage, receiving and shipping.
  • Collaborate with EHS, HR and engineering to ensure safety, compliance and innovation.
  • Set performance expectations, give feedback, and conduct regular reviews.
  • Investigate performance concerns and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Oversee hiring for direct reports; interview and select candidates in line with policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function Possess strong collaboration skillsProvide the vision for the facility to align with corporate direction for the companyMust be able to present data about the facility to upper management in a clear and concise mannerDevelop strategies for improving safety culture in hisher facility collaborating with EHS corporate ManagerContinually evaluate processes make recommendations and implement improvements to optimize efficiency Establish and document standard operating procedures and ensure the team is adhering to them Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness Lead his team members in the development and implementation of lean manufacturing programs taking responsibility for sustaining lean principles and ensuring diagnostic score card goals are assigned to and implemented Prepare review and distribute manufacturing and distribution metrics Ensure performance and trending analyses are completed and appropriate corrective actions and associate performance recognition plans are executed Lead the operations manager position on how to successfully manage budgets Ensure prompt and proper storage handling receiving and shipping of finished goods and raw materials Collaborate with the EHS team to ensure all team members are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our associates Identify recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and quality reduce cost and reduce or eliminate scrap Direct the establishment implementation and maintenance of production standards Collaborate with engineering on relevant manufacturing information and technology to increase innovation and ensure regulatory compliance Lead team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback training and encouragement Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the companys mission and have the right toolsresources to do their jobs wellInvestigate performance concerns and implement disciplinary action up to and including termination as needed and in compliance with company procedures and with consultation with the human resources departmentCollaborate with Human Resources on complaints and performance concerns and implement disciplinary action up to and including termination as needed and in compliance with company proceduresWork with human resources department to manage hiring process for direct reports; interview and select candidates for hire in compliance with company processes Adhere to established company values practices policies and procedures at all times Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules laws regulations and standards Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisormanager in discussing matters of importanceDemonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications Bachelors degree in Business Finance Management Engineering Operations or related fieldFive 5 years related experience in manufacturing andor chemical industry; or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the above dutiesVerifiable track record of effective leadership and increasingly responsible experience in a manufacturing facility Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable
