Job summary

Buncombe County Government seeks an Assistant Planning Director to support the Planning Department. The role focuses on implementing long-range strategic plans, guiding staff, and ensuring policy alignment with the county’s goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field and five (5) years of administrative experience in government or business.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
Special qualifications may be established for individual positions.

Responsibilities

Assist the director with the implementation of long-range strategic plans, departmental goals, policies, procedures, and business practices.
Provide leadership and direction to management and staff through supervision to ensure development and high service standards.
Collaborate with the director to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
