The City of Claremont is seeking an Assistant Planner to join the Planning Division in the Community Development Department. The role will support current and advanced planning, zoning, design, and historic preservation efforts, including CEQA compliance and special studies.

The successful candidate will conduct research, prepare reports, review development proposals for policy conformance, and collaborate with architects, builders, engineers, and public agencies to advance planning initiatives

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of urban planning and redevelopment.

Aufgaben

• Perform professional-level work in current planning, advanced planning, zoning and design, historic preservation, environmental review under CEQA, and special studies as assigned.
• Conduct project research, compile information, prepare reports, and provide recommendations relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Check development proposals for conformance with City policies and regulations; prepare graphics and data displays.
• Coordinate with Architects, Builders, Attorneys, Contractors, Engineers, and the public regarding development policies and standards.

Kenntnisse

Knowledge of urban planning principles

Bachelor's Degree in urban planning or related field
