Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide medically prescribed therapy under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist at UAB St. Vincent's Blount.

You will implement interventions per a formal plan of care, document all treatments, and coordinate with physical therapy aides, students and other support staff to ensure high-quality patient care. A valid PTA credential in Alabama and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date; AHA or ARC accepted.
• Licensed Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy Assistant credentialed from the Alabama Board within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills appropriate for the patient population.
• Document treatment interventions given.
• May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
