Job summary

Hilton is seeking an Assistant Pastry Cook to craft pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts for hotel outlets and events. You will follow established recipes, ensure quality and presentation, and support high-volume banquet production while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

As an Assistant Pastry Cook, you’re not just preparing great tasting bakery and pastry items – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality baked goods: Prepare and bake pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts following designated recipes and quality standards
• Present food items with care: Arrange and display baked goods according to specifications, ensuring an appealing presentation
• Manage pastry inventory: Ensure proper storage, refrigeration, and organization of all pastry products while preparing daily requisitions for supplies and food items
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep designated food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Assisting with daily pastry and bakery production for hotel outlets and banquet events.
• Prepare, assemble, and finish pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Supporting high-volume production for large banquet events.
• Assisting with dessert plating, buffet setup, and special orders.
• Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations and equipment.
• Following food safety procedures, proper labeling, and FIFO standards.
• Monitoring product quality, freshness, and consistency.
• Completing daily production tasks within assigned deadlines.
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Adapting to changing production priorities and operational needs.
• Working independently when necessary while supporting the pastry team.

Ideal Candidate

• Able to work a full shift (8 hours) walking/standing with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to bend, stoop, walk and lift/ push/ pull up to 50lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to work flexible, various hours- including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have at least 3 years of experience as a Pastry cook.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
