Job summary

Station Casinos is seeking an experienced bakery professional to support multiple stations in a high-volume kitchen. You will bake cakes, pies, pastries, breads, and tortes while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires collaboration, training others, and efficient time management across shifts. Applicants should demonstrate five years of post-training bakery experience and advanced knowledge of recipe interpretation, cost control, and plating desserts.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience outside training in related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge of bakery blocks and skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Flexible scheduling and readiness to work in various kitchen stations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety and sanitation per department policies.
  • Operate and support all bakery stations for three meals per day in a high-volume setting.
  • Create recipes with cost considerations and execute station setup/breakdown.

Job description

Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Station Casinos’ “Beyond the Best” Company-wide culture and demonstrating Station Casinos’ Championship Service Standards at all times. Have knowledge of where your MSDS (material safety data sheets) booklet is located for your department and understand its contents. Display knowledge of all emergency procedures. Follow sets schedules and specific job. Display and encourage teamwork in the department. Attend daily Team Member huddles and look at the communication boards for pertinent information. All Team Members must follow recipe book and guidelines set forth by corporate food and beverage. Ensure that kitchens and equipment are in good working order to ensure a clean and hazard free work area. Must posses the ability to work hands‑on in any kitchen environment pertaining to a three‑meal period and high volume production, including but not limited to, baking all manners of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, tortes, etc., for Guest services according to Station Casinos’ standards and specifications. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety and sanitation standard in accordance with department policies and the department of health.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience outside training in related fields.
  • Possess advance knowledge of all previous bakery skill blocks.
  • Must have working knowledge to manage time effectively with no supervision.
  • Must be able to handle flexible schedule.
  • Must have working knowledge and have been instrumental in training procedure development.
  • Must be able to take constructive criticism and always be willing to improve.
  • Must have working knowledge and understanding to apply inventory control procedures.
  • Must have working knowledge and demonstrated the ability to man 100% of all station in the bake shop without hesitation.
  • Must have working knowledge and advanced understanding of all stations in the bake shop.
  • Must have working knowledge and the ability to learn and apply the basics of profit and loss.
  • Must have working knowledge and advance understanding of recipe interpretation and calculation.
  • Must have working knowledge and advance proficiency in piping jells, icings, creams, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge and advance understanding of chocolate and sugar work.
  • Must have working knowledge and advance ability to created amenity displays.
  • Must have working knowledge and advance ability to help organize and assist others in mapping out production tasks.
  • Must have working knowledge and advance understanding to assess BEO’s (banquets event orders).
  • Must have working knowledge to demonstrate advance ability in plating desserts.
  • Must have working knowledge and the ability to create recipes with attached cost.
  • Must have working knowledge and demonstrate competency in execution of station set up and breakdown.
