Position Summary
The Assistant Pastor for Family Discipleship will serve as a full-time colleague to the Senior Pastor, focusing on the spiritual formation of teens and young families. This role is not a traditional “youth ministry” position, but a pastoral calling to shepherd fathers, mentor parents, counsel marriages, and disciple young people toward maturity in Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Youth & Family Discipleship
- Responsible for the shepherding and administration of Youth and Family Ministry.
- Create and implement a cohesive Christian Education plan.
- Develop and lead youth Bible studies and discipleship groups.
- Establish mentoring pathways for parents and fathers.
- Provide marital counseling and family support as needed.
- Outreach & Assimilation
- Engage new families with teens and young children.
- Build relationships that foster long-term spiritual growth and church involvement.
- Teaching & Preaching
- Teach regularly in youth and adult settings.
- Preach occasionally in Sunday worship services as needed.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Report to the Senior Pastor and work as a ministry colleague.
- Collaborate with staff, Session, and lay leaders to build sustainable ministries.
