Position Summary

The Assistant Pastor for Family Discipleship will serve as a full-time colleague to the Senior Pastor, focusing on the spiritual formation of teens and young families. This role is not a traditional “youth ministry” position, but a pastoral calling to shepherd fathers, mentor parents, counsel marriages, and disciple young people toward maturity in Christ.

Key Responsibilities

1. Youth & Family Discipleship
2. Responsible for the shepherding and administration of Youth and Family Ministry.
3. Create and implement a cohesive Christian Education plan.
4. Develop and lead youth Bible studies and discipleship groups.
5. Establish mentoring pathways for parents and fathers.
6. Provide marital counseling and family support as needed.
7. Outreach & Assimilation
8. Engage new families with teens and young children.
9. Build relationships that foster long-term spiritual growth and church involvement.
10. Teaching & Preaching
11. Teach regularly in youth and adult settings.
12. Preach occasionally in Sunday worship services as needed.
13. Collaboration & Leadership
14. Report to the Senior Pastor and work as a ministry colleague.
15. Collaborate with staff, Session, and lay leaders to build sustainable ministries.
