An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Park Ranger Assistant to help maintain safety and order in local parks. This role involves patrolling assigned areas, enforcing rules, and responding to emergencies while providing excellent customer service to the public. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Parks and Recreation, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle various situations professionally. Under general supervision of the Park Ranger I, this position is responsible for assisting with patrolling parks, enforcing rules, and City ordinances while maintaining safety and order. Performance is reviewed by conferences, reports, observation of results attained, and direct feedback from customer interactions.
Saturday: 7 AM - 3 PM, Tuesday - Thursday: 6 PM to 10 PM (Subject to Change); schedule will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience working in Parks and Recreation. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Prior customer contact experience preferred. Experience in communicating and dealing with the public. Be able to approach residents and address situations professionally and appropriately. Experience in and/or knowledge of Community Compliance is ideal.
Possess CPR/First Aid and STOP THE BLEED training or obtain certification within six months of hire. Obtain National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six months of hire to be able to write parking tickets.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
