Grade/Salary: Grade 08 - $15.00 - $18.98 Per Hour

The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands Division, is recruiting to fill a Seasonal Full Time Assistant Park Ranger position (15 weeks) at Damariscotta State Park.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This role involves maintenance and personal services work providing services to park visitors at a state park or day-use area. Responsibilities may include directing and overseeing a small crew of maintenance and operations personnel. Work is performed under general supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to follow directions.

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Valid Class C Maine motor vehicle operator’s license.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT:

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older (Lifeguards must be 16+)
  • Must be U.S. Citizens or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Housing provided at Penobscot River Corridor and Allagash Wilderness Waterway; limited housing elsewhere.
  • Most positions require 40 hours/week, including weekends and some holidays.
  • Uniforms are provided by the agency.
