The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands Division, is recruiting for a Seasonal Full Time Assistant Park Ranger position (12 weeks) at Peaks-Kenny State Park.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role involves maintenance and providing services to park visitors at a state park or day use area. Responsibilities may include directing and supervising a small crew of maintenance and operations staff. Work is performed under general supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to follow directions.

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/TRAINING:

Must have a valid Class C Maine motor vehicle operator’s license.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older (Lifeguards must be 16+).
  • U.S. Citizens or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Housing provided in specific parks; generally not available elsewhere.
  • Most positions require 40 hours/week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Uniforms are provided.

Verification of credentials, criminal record, and driver’s license will be required before employment. At least one work-related reference is needed at interview. Applicants meeting minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
