Job summary

Hessler Paint & Ace Hardware is seeking an experienced Color Matcher / Paint Specialist for our Delray Beach location. This role focuses on accurate color matching, tinting, and preparing paint orders for contractors and customers. A fast-paced environment requires attention to detail and reliability.

Ideal candidates have prior paint industry experience, knowledge of tinting, and the ability to match colors by eye. Benjamin Moore products are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous paint industry experience — required.
• Experience with paint tinting and color matching.

• Benjamin Moore knowledge strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of primers, coatings, and proper application techniques.

Responsibilities

This is not an entry-level paint position. Previous paint industry experience is required.

The Role

As our Color Matcher / Paint Specialist, you will:

• Match paint colors and develop accurate tint formulas.
• Tint and prepare paint orders for contractors and retail customers.
• Maintain strong quality control by verifying products, colors, formulas, and quantities.
• Troubleshoot paint, coating, preparation, and application questions.
• Maintain accurate color-matching records for future orders.
• Assist with stocking, overstock, order entry, and general paint department operations.
• Work in a fast-paced environment that requires standing, lifting, and moving paint throughout the day.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous paint industry experience — required.
• Experience with paint tinting and color matching.
• The ability to color match by eye is a major advantage.
• Knowledge of paint products, primers, coatings, and proper application techniques.
• Benjamin Moore product knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A customer-first attitude.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work well as part of a busy team.
• The physical ability to lift and move paint and remain on your feet throughout the workday.

We are looking for someone who believes in doing things correctly the first time and understands that contractors depend on us for accurate products, colors, and service.

Compensation

$21-$25 per hour, based on paint experience, product knowledge, and color-matching ability.
