Job summary

Sioux Falls School District at Lincoln High School seeks an Assistant Oral Interpretation Coach to support students in competitive interpretation across seven categories. The role involves selecting material, coaching introductions, and scheduling sessions to prepare teams for invitational tournaments, state events and NFL contests.

Bachelor's degree is recommended; experience in theater, coaching, and familiarity with NFL rules are valued.

Qualifications

Extensive background in dramatic literature, all forms of prose, poetry and non‑fiction.
Familiarity with all rules governing oral interpretation competition and NFL rules.
Willingness to commit time to finding selections and coaching interpreters.
Available to coach after school, evenings, weekends, and chaperone at contests.

Responsibilities

Reads new material and prepares cuttings for seven oral interpretation categories.
Helps students prepare introductions for their selections.
Schedules coaching sessions for all interpreters.
Monitors and chaperones overnights per District policy.
Supports team behavior and sportsmanship standards.
Assists in preparing the team for competitions and festivals.
Maintains relationships with Booster Club and families.
Helps organize year‑end awards ceremonies and keeps a library of selections.
