Tenure-Track Faculty Hire within the Doctor of Marriage and Family Program
The School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy (SoPMFT) at Fuller Theological Seminary invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy. This faculty appointment will be in the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), which includes programs in Pasadena, California, and Phoenix, Arizona, as well as a hybrid Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT) program.
Fuller’s DMFT program is primarily online, with quarterly in-person weekend immersions. It aims to train mental health professionals in the Clinician-Consultant Training Model to serve individuals, couples, families, and organizations, including churches and non-profits. The role involves serving as a core faculty member, teaching courses, advising students on dissertations, and contributing to program development. Courses are taught online, with quarterly in-person weekends at Fuller campuses.
Fuller Seminary, encompassing the School of Mission and Theology (SMT) and SoPMFT, is a multidenominational, international, and multiethnic community dedicated to formational education for diverse Christian leaders. The seminary is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The School emphasizes clinical excellence, integration of psychology and Christianity, research, cultural competence, and academic strength. All faculty are expected to affirm the seminary’s Statement of Faith and abide by its Community Standards. Fuller values inclusivity and offers various centers and institutes that support diverse academic and cultural initiatives.
Additional centers include the Center for Asian American Theology and Ministry, Korean Studies Center, Centro Latino, Pannell Center for Black Church Studies, and Chinese Studies Center. These centers host conferences, lectures, and courses in multiple languages, supporting our Strategic Approach to Inclusive Excellence.
