Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, TX, seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Applied Theology to research, develop, and deliver engaging course content for a 12-credit teaching load and two online courses per semester. Qualifications

• Ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a minimum of eight years ministerial experience.
• MDiv required; a DMin is preferred or actively pursuing a DMin.
• Comparable doctoral-level ministry program candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and deliver engaging course content for a teaching load of 12 undergraduate credits per semester (typically four on-campus courses).
• Teach two online courses per semester.
• Advise Theology and Religion majors and minors.
• Maintain a minimum of 8–10 office hours per week to advise, guide, and mentor students.
• Communicate with the Department Chair about expectations and duties; coordinate the Pastoral Internship Program and provide pastoral mentorship.
• Organize and oversee the Field School of Evangelism for every summer term in conjunction with the Union.
• Demonstrate commitment to Adventist beliefs, mission, lifestyle, and Christian education.

MinimumQualifications

The successfulcandidate must be an ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a minimum of eight (8) years of ministerial experience within the denomination. Candidates should demonstrate a humble, teachable spirit and a commitmenttomentoringandworkingpatientlyanddiligentlywithadultandyoung adult students.

Applicants must hold, at minimum, a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from an accreditedinstitutionorbeactivelypursuingaDMindegree.ADoctorofMinistry (DMin) degreeispreferred.However,candidateswhohaveacomparabledoctoral-levelministry program are also encouraged to apply.
