Division of Genomic Medicine, Department of Medicine and Institute for Genomic Health | Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai | New York City

Lead the integration of genomics into everyday medicine

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking exceptional Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track faculty candidates who are talented physicians and/or physician-scientists who will develop and implement genomic medicine programs within the Division of Genomic Medicine (DGM), Department of Medicine, and the Institute for Genomic Health (IGH).

Genomic medicine has arrived. AI-enabled analysis of millions of sequenced genomes linked to real-world clinical data is transforming how we predict, prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. Mount Sinai is one of the few places in the world where that transformation is happening inside a health system, at population scale, in one of the most diverse patient communities. The successful candidate will work under the leadership of Dr. Michael Murray, Chief of the Division of Genomic Medicine and Clinical Director of IGH, and Dr. Eimear Kenny, Founding Director of IGH.

Why Mount Sinai? The data, the clinic, the mission

Faculty enjoy full access to:

  • The Genomic Screening Program and Genomic Health Clinic; pioneering programs returning actionable genomic results to patients and embedding genomic and polygenic risk information in routine clinical care Department of Medicine's Genomic Health Clinic
  • The Mount Sinai Million Health Discoveries Program; launched in 2022 in partnership with the Regeneron Genetics Center, this landmark initiative is sequencing the genomes of one million racially and ethnically diverse Mount Sinai patients linked to their electronic health records, making it one of the largest and most diverse health-system-based sequencing efforts in the world.
  • The BioMe Biobank; a pioneering EHR-linked germline DNA repository of more than 70,000 Mount Sinai patients, generating genomic discoveries since 2007.
  • A state-of-the-art high-performance computing and AI ecosystem, including Mount Sinai’s Scientific Computing and Data Science resources, the Data Ark, and the AIR·MS secure AI research platform.
  • Major NIH-funded consortia and clinical partnerships, including eMERGE and its Polygenic Risk Score Program, CSER, ClinGen, TOPMed, GSP, PAGE, the Human Pangenome Reference Consortium, and the NIH All of Us Research Program.
