The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Division of Community Oral Health invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Division Chief of Community Oral Health. This is a full-time faculty position in the Standing Faculty in the Clinician Educator track or Tenure track, at the associate or full professor level, and reports to the leadership of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences. This public health professional will lead and expand the Division's activities in teaching, research and community-based practice at PDM's affiliated community programs. The Division Chief will lead faculty to improve overall scholarly activity, build and maintain the department's reputation nationally and internationally, as well as increase funding to strengthen the community-based and interdisciplinary practice programs and research at the University of Pennsylvania. Successful history of funded programs preferred. Health equity-based research is a plus. Opportunities to collaborate with the Center for Integrative Global Oral Health are available. The Division Chief will exhibit exceptional leadership skills and supervise the faculty and staff within the Division.

In addition to holding the Division Chief role, there may be opportunities for individuals to also serve in an Assistant or Associate Dean role, commensurate with experience, in Oral Health Equity and Community Dentistry.

Within the Division of Community Oral Health, there may be opportunities for candidates seeking a full-time faculty position on the Clinician Educator or Tenure track at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Faculty would teach clinically and didactically within the Department and Division as well as engage in scholarly activity.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The posting will remain open until filled.


Qualifications
Qualifications for the Division Chief position include DMD/DDS/MD and/or PsyD/PhD degree or equivalent; experience with teaching and mentoring students and faculty preferably in interprofessional settings, demonstrated experience in research and scholarship with a track record of funding, and experience in the management of department/program operations. Preference will be given to candidates with public health training at the masters or doctoral level, and experience in community-based centers. Candidates seeking clinical practice opportunities must be eligible for unrestricted Pennsylvania dental licensure.

Qualifications for a full-time CE or Tenure track role position include DMD/DDS/MD degree or equivalent; experience with teaching and mentoring students preferably in interprofessional settings, demonstrated experience in research and scholarship.
