Job summary

AmTote seeks a front-line technician to operate wagering systems and support equipment at race facilities. You will generate regulatory reports, troubleshoot hardware, and provide on-site, hands-on service to ensure reliable operation in both live and non-live race environments.

Ideal candidates have 0–1 years of experience, a high school diploma, solid Windows skills, and strong communication abilities. Occasional overtime, including holidays and weekends, may be required.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer operation and familiarity with Windows 2000/XP/7/10.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wagering systems and related equipment.
  • Generate reports for customer mutuel departments and state regulators.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or supervise repair of wagering equipment.
  • Provide on-site technical support and maintain wagering systems.
  • Ensure efficient service in live and non-live racing environments.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and work with senior team members on projects.
  • Take initiative on assigned duties and communicate effectively with coworkers.

Job description

  • Operate wagering systems and peripheral equipment associated with AmTote's service
  • Generate reports required by customer mutuel departments and state regulatory agencies
  • Troubleshoot and repair, or supervise repair of, AmTote-associated equipment
  • Follow AmTote safety procedures
  • Provide on-site, hands-on technical support and operating skills to maintain wagering equipment
  • Ensure efficient service to customers in live and non-live race environments
  • Take initiative on applicable duties and projects under direction from senior department team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 0 to 1 years' experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic Computer Operation and understanding of Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, 7, and 10
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience changing computer video resolution
  • Experience changing hard drive parameters
  • Experience using a digital voltmeter
  • Experience using "ping"
  • Understanding of software drivers for sound cards, video cards, and printers
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds short distances
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible, and reliable
  • Ability to learn quickly, be detail-oriented, take direction, and work and communicate effectively with co-workers
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic horse racing industry knowledge
  • Ability to work varying hours, including holidays, evenings, and weekends based on business needs
