Job summary

The Doe Run Company is seeking an Assistant operator for the Casa Grande, Arizona site to produce finished lead and lead alloyed products. This dayshift role involves meeting customer specifications, production schedules, and shipment deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare products for final finish.
  • Verify product dimensions and thicknesses.

  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Doe Run Company is seeking an Assistant operators in producing finished lead and lead alloyed products in order to meet customer specifications, production schedules, and shipment deadlines. This dayshift position will be located at the FPI location in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Education & Experience
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Upon hire obtain certification to safely operate forklift, cranes and hoists.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient communication skills in order to coordinate with operators and other employees regarding equipment performance and repair needs.
  • Ability to read measuring tools of tape measure, scales, and a micrometer (to measure product thicknesses according to customer specifications).
  • Basic literacy skills required to read and understand production orders and record production information.
  • Ability to exert physical effort; manually lift, and palletize products throughout shift.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare products for final finish.

  • Safely operate a forklift and crane in order to move product to designated locations.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance and housekeeping tasks.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting
  • Micrometer, tape measure, hammer, pick ax, forklift, crane, hoist, vaculift, hanging scales, chains, and slings
  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear, and work near moving, mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to vibration. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Regularly requires hearing, feeling attributes of objects, standing, walking, driving, and reaching with hands/arms; frequently requires talking; occasionally requires pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds.
