Are you an ambitious individual looking to advance your career as a top performer? SBM’s Manager in Training (MIT) program helps motivated individuals develop the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in a permanent leadership role.

MIT Program

Our MIT program is a blended-learning, six-week program focused on immersing a manager in all aspects of running a multi-million-dollar business within the facilities industry. Training occurs on-site at one of our Fortune 200 client locations, combining hands-on training, expert learning, real-time feedback, and personalized advice. It is ideal for college graduates and those seeking professional development opportunities.

Career Path

Participants must complete the training to progress to a manager role, overseeing their team. Successful completion is the first step toward future leadership opportunities, as SBM advocates growth from within. Most senior leaders, including C-suite executives, Vice Presidents, and Site Managers, have completed the MIT program.

Typical Day in Training
  • Continuous Learning & Development: The training lasts approximately three months, providing hands-on experience and mentorship. You will develop a personalized learning plan covering all aspects of managing SBM’s client facilities. Upon completion, you may have the opportunity to obtain a manager position.
  • Team Management: Use interpersonal and communication skills to foster a positive environment, motivate a diverse team, provide feedback, support development, and assist with staffing and recruiting.
  • Supportive Teamwork: Work in a fast-paced environment, providing operational support, conducting management training, solving problems, and communicating with senior management.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Support and deliver excellent customer service to strengthen customer advocacy.
  • Travel Opportunities: Support transitions and learn from team members nationwide.

Compensation and Benefits
