SUMMARYThe Operations Assistant Manager will provide leadership and operations oversight to FMG, ABG, GAC, to produce products that are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. This position is a training opportunity for a future Operations Manager role and reports directly to the Global VP of Punching.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operations of the manufacturing for FMG, ABG, GAC.
- Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiency and enhance productivity.
- Model lean principles, work practices, and follow standard work designed for leaders.
- Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff; manage employee performance which includes reinforcing positive outcomes, discipline as needed and ensuring consistent levels of performance, cooperation, and coordination between other departments and divisions.
- Resolve production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain established goals.
- Take actions that provide the employees with a safe and positive work environment model and encourage company values and promote employee development for the future.
- Maintain a good understanding of how the company operates.
- Develop, maintain and promote standards for accountability, acceptable performance and enforcement of all company policies.
- Participate in creating the operations budget and comply with budget limitations and spending.
- Take a proactive role in your personal development by seeking out challenging opportunities and meaningful developmental education.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION- College degree in business or engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience or a combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of demonstrated operations work experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience required.
- Previous experience implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing to drive improvement.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team building skills.
- Strong technical skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and the ability to create a positive work environment.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and business needs.
- Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense
- Interacts with all levels of the organization effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands and work environment are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. In addition to continuous sitting and working on a computer, the role may involve continuous reaching forward between shoulder/waist, bending/twisting/rotating, and simple grasping and writing. Occasional exposure to an indoor manufacturing environment, chemicals, and/or fumes may occur.
