We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

What We Can Offer

At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Drive operational improvements in a high‑impact, innovation‑focused environment.
  • Access development pathways, technical training, and leadership growth opportunities.
  • Be part of a culture that values work‑life balance through shared accountability and team‑based support.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that directly shape safer, smarter, and more efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily terminal operations, ensuring all labor and equipment assignments are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operating plans.
  • Direct Foremen/Chief Supervisors to optimize labor utilization, manage costs, and support consistent execution across vessel, yard, and gate activities.
  • Order, deploy, and adjust labor resources in real time, including authorizing overtime and supplemental labor based on operational requirements.
  • Monitor labor arrival times, validate hours worked, and ensure accurate payroll reporting and timekeeping adjustments.
  • Establish equipment and yard strategies to maximize yard space, ensure chassis availability, and support vessel productivity.
  • Make real‑time decisions reallocating labor, equipment, vessel gangs, rail units, and gate resources to maintain operational flow and meet business priorities.
  • Oversee labor relations activities, including coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes for union labor in accordance with safety and operational standards.
  • Hold Foremen/Chief Supervisors accountable for safe behaviors and effective performance; intervene and reassign as needed to maintain a safe operation.
  • Support development, implementation, and refinement of operating plans across the terminal.
  • Work a rotating schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 terminal operations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a strong mindset of continuous improvement – someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in operations, transportation, warehousing, supply chain, stevedoring, or equivalent military experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a unionized labor environment and manage performance through clear communication, coaching, and accountability.
  • Strong decision‑making skills with the ability to respond quickly to changing operational conditions while maintaining safety and efficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with the ability to learn terminal‑specific systems and tools.
