Assistant Operations Manager – Cleaning Services

Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried Position
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 per year

Are you a proactive leader with a strong background in operations management? A well-established company in the cleaning services industry is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee daytime janitorial accounts, manage client relationships, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance service quality and retention.
  • Oversee daytime janitorial operations, ensuring high standards in cleaning services and quality.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and coaching employees in coordination with HR.
  • Manage supply orders, labor hours, and operational metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Utilize various communication tools (email, phone, video conferencing, and other platforms) to effectively interact with clients, employees, and management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, facility management, or a related field.
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business or management preferred.
  • Strong client relations skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Good presence and adaptability using different types of communication devices (phone, email, video conferencing, mobile apps, etc.).
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (must operate company vehicles).
  • Experience in cleaning services, facilities management, or janitorial operations preferred.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a background check and drug screening.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Office-based and on-site at commercial client locations.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Primarily daytime work with flexibility required for operations oversight.
  • May require after-hours availability based on client needs and emergencies.
