Job summary

Shodair Children’s Hospital is seeking a Day Shift Assistant Nurse Manager to support and guide nursing staff in delivering safe, trauma-informed care for children and adolescents. This role partners with the Nurse Manager, mentors staff, ensures compliance, and steps in to provide direct care when needed.

Responsibilities include supervising daily operations, coaching nurses, leading de-escalation efforts, and maintaining high documentation and quality standards.

Qualifications

• RN license (MT or Compact) required or in progress.
• CPI/APS certification must be obtained within 2 months of hire.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with children/adolescents in a mental health setting preferred.
• Leadership, team lead, or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and crisis management skills.
