Job summary

AdventHealth Calhoun in Georgia seeks a Nurse Manager to lead the nursing team, manage staffing, coaching, and evaluations while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. You will develop staff, ensure regulatory compliance, participate in audits, and promote evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record [Required]
• Five or more years of current clinical experience [Preferred]
• Cerner documentation [Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
• Demonstrating critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
• Fostering a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
• Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning. Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
• Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
• Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
• Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
• Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:

$32.48 - $60.42
