Unit Description:
Procedural Support and Recovery (PSR) Unit Registered Nurses provide care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, ablations, peripheral studies/interventions and cardiac device implants. Care includes prepping outpatients, PCU level and ICU level patients for Cardiac procedures, as well as providing supportive care during Phase 1 recovery/ Post-Anesthesia Care. This care integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills; including sheath maintenance, titration of cardiac medications post procedure, high level EKG monitoring, and post-sedation/ anesthesia recovery with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care. PSR Unit Registered Nurses require a high degree of knowledge in cardiac procedures, anatomy of the heart, circulatory, and neuro system in a specialized environment. PSR Unit Registered Nurses prepare patients for their procedure and must have the ability to provide education to patients and families before and after the test/and or intervention. In addition, the PSR Unit Registered Nurses will be trained to assist physicians with non-invasive procedures to include Trans-Esophageal Echocardiogram and Cardioversion.

The ANM is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager or Director in overall operations of their assigned unit. Is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The ANM is skilled in coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services to our patient population. The ANM assures quality of care is delivered to our patients and demonstrates effective stewardship of scarce resources. Is supportive of change activities on their unit and works to assure implementation of change that may occur. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
