Job Summary

The position is responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager in providing leadership to the department—overseeing daily operations, managing and developing staff, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team in patient care, utilizing the nursing process, and ensuring quality care delivery. The role requires 24/7 support of the department/unit as appropriate. Typically reports to a Manager or Director of Nursing.

Qualifications:

• BSN required; Master’s degree in Nursing preferred if Bachelor’s is not in Nursing
• CAPA or CPAN certification strongly preferred; or must obtain within 1 year
• Peri-Anesthesia experience preferred; open to critical care or med-surg
• Previous experience as Charge RN, Clinical Coordinator, or in a supervisory role required
• Current Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license required
• Basic Life Support certification required
• Professional certification in clinical area or management required within one year of eligibility
• At least 3 years of clinical experience and demonstrated leadership skills

Principal Responsibilities:
