Akron General's 3100 Unit is a 16-bed cardiac telemetry and med/surg unit. This fast-paced unit cares for patients who require extensive ADL assistance, high-risk fall patients and patients with pneumonia, FTT, weakness, confusion, sepsis, PEG care, central lines, multiple antibiotic therapies, blood transfusions, IV push/cardiac drip titration medications and tracheostomies. Many of these patients are transfers out of the MICU/SICU and, occasionally, neuro overflow patients. This unit has a strong focus on IV push, limited cardiac drips and chest pain testing/monitoring.
As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) on the team, you will support the nurse manager with the supervision of RN caregivers and other assigned nursing support personnel within the 3100 Med/Surg unit along with the Rapid Observation Unit. You will work alongside the nurses, driving the OKRs, making sure fall precautions are in place, providing staff support and leading huddles. Your role is instrumental in-patient rounding, performing service recovery and workflow optimization. Your efforts will have an impact on both patient care and the patient experience. This opportunity offers great leadership skill enhancement, the chance to work on a newly established unit and management exposer.
