This role prioritizes strong communication, timely decision-making, and change management, serving as bench strength for the Nurse Manager position. RN license and CCU experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required.
• RN license with active status.
• BLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Certification.
• ACLS certification upon department orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Nurse Manager with assessment, staffing, scheduling, and equipment management.
• Support department leadership in personnel processes and performance evaluations.
• Participate in development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

Overview

The Assistant Nurse Manager provides support to the Nurse Manager in planning, organizing, and implementing specific services within the unit. This role is responsible for assisting with fiscal management, performance improvement activities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. The Assistant Nurse Manager will participate in all aspects of personnel processes, communicate effectively, and assist in making timely decisions and managing change. This position requires strong collaboration with all departments and serves as bench strength for the Nurse Manager position.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Nurse Manager in assessment, skill proficiency evaluation, equipment and supply management, patient satisfaction initiatives, staffing, and scheduling.
• Supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing the unit.
• Assists with the management of personnel processes, including but not limited to hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Participates in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Effectively communicates information to staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
• Assists the Nurse Manager in making timely decisions and managing change processes.
• Collaborates with all departments as part of the management team.
• Utilizes a personal cell phone for business purposes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years Critical Care experience required

Credentials

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon completion of department orientation

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Magnet Recognition preferred).
• OR RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program + Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Active pursuit of a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) if not already possessing a BSN.
