Job summary

UAB Medicine's Hospital Medicine team is seeking a registered nurse to direct nursing service activities for shifts in Highlands 6 North, a 24-bed acute care unit. The role focuses on professional nursing care, collaboration with physicians and leadership to coordinate patient care within the unit.

The candidate must hold an Associate's degree in Nursing, be licensed or eligible in Alabama, and obtain BLS within 30 days and ACLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing with eighteen (18) months of related experience required.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required within six (6) months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing service activities in the assigned care unit for the duration of one shift and/or in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
• Provide professional nursing care for patients in the assigned unit.
• Support nursing leadership in coordination of patient care, personnel management, and physician/interdisciplinary collaboration.
