Job description

Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health as it relates to the Peri-Operative and Special Procedures experience. Leads team members, directs and develops staff, collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professionals.

Principal Accountabilities:

Collaborates with Nurse Manager on all initiatives and tasks noted below:

  1. Acts as a clinical and administrative resource within the organizational chart, for all Peri-Operative team members.
  2. Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, developing and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  3. Assures quality of care by performing EHR and performance audits and event reporting reviews.
  4. Is involved in and supports the peer interview process for talent acquisition.
  5. Collaborates with the peri-operative educator to identify educational needs and develop action plans to support team member learning.
  6. Participates in unit-based initiatives, maintains a presence at system level ANM meetings, committees and work groups.
  7. Maintains accurate team member documentation.
  8. Provides team member feedback routinely which includes but is not limited to 90 Day New Hire and annual Performance Review.
  9. Achieves financial objectives and ensures emergency equipment availability/nursing supplies and completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge and clinical skill level.
  11. Promotes and fosters a productive, collegial work environment.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
