Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT, seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) for the Medical Cardiology / Telemetry Unit. In this leadership role, you will support daily clinical operations, guide staffing and throughput, and champion patient safety and quality outcomes.

You will partner with the Nurse Manager to foster staff development, lead initiatives, and collaborate with cardiology and hospital teams.

Qualifications

• RN license in Connecticut (CT)
• BSN degree
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• 2–3 years of acute care nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of a medical cardiology/telemetry inpatient unit
• Supervise and mentor charge nurses and frontline nursing staff
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient assignments, and throughput
• Promote a culture of patient safety, quality care, and accountability
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, DPH, and Trinity Health standards
• Support staff development, coaching, and performance management
• Lead quality improvement and patient experience initiatives
• Collaborate with cardiology, hospitalist, and interdisciplinary teams
• Serve as a visible, hands-on leader during assigned shifts
