Job summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager - Ambulatory at Cleveland Clinic Health System’s Richard Jacobs Health Center in Avon, Ohio, leads daily ambulatory operations and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a busy outpatient setting.

You will supervise nursing personnel, coordinate care, ensure staff competencies, and participate in committees and continuous improvement efforts.

Requires BSN, RN license, BLS, and at least two years of RN experience; supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Two years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in the clinical setting.
• Coordinate activities to ensure quality and safe patient care.
• Anticipate and resolve patient care and personnel issues.
• Ensure maintenance of annual staff competencies and continuing education in conjunction with the clinical manager.

• Participate in department leadership meetings.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.
• Assume responsibilities of the clinical manager as needed.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of personnel, annual performance reviews, and performance improvement.

A caregiver in this role will work 8-hr shifts from 6:30am to 5:00pm with varying start times.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

• May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

• Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
