Job summary

A leading sensor and networking solutions firm in Seattle is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Support Specialist. The candidate will support network engineers in purchasing tasks, including creating and managing purchase orders while ensuring effective communication with team members and vendors. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a relevant role is required, alongside strong Excel skills and familiarity with PeopleSoft systems. This position demands excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience, preferably within a Wireless Network organization.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft is a big plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines.

Overview

America Networks is a leading sensor and networking solutions partner for companies in any Industrial, Manufacturing, and Waste management space. We design and manufacture sensors for storage tanks, water metering, energy metering, gas monitoring, and asset management. Our founders are hardcore telecommunications engineers with combined 200+ years of experience in designing, optimizing and performance engineering for several mid–large wireless carriers internationally. We provide low power, cost-efficient sensors to collect data, create alerts, and predict needed actions. We combine these sensors with low power, wide area (LPWA) networking technologies to help clients decrease re-occurring costs associated with operating an IoT network of sensors and connected devices. We specialize in design, deployment, optimization, and support of these Networks. Whether an off-the-shelf or custom solution is needed, we’ll create a solution and push the data on the best cloud platform to fit your needs, including your own.

Responsibilities
  • Support network engineers in all purchasing related functions for the purpose of meeting the region’s monthly and annual spend and commitment goals
  • Create and or amend hundreds of PO’s monthly and actively monitor outstanding lines for the life of the PO
  • Work with Project Managers and Equipment Engineers to create requests for funding, quotes and purchase orders.
  • Update outstanding purchase orders by performing change orders, validating the accuracy of PO due dates and ensuring relevance of outstanding commitments.
  • Process department related invoices by performing system receipts and clearing three way match exceptions to allow for timely invoice payments
  • Proactively prepare for cleanup of all outstanding PO lines at year end by moving them into following calendar year as needed and meeting all critical deadlines
  • Work with vendors to build relationships and establish processes for meeting all expectations
Qualifications
  • Minimum Associates degree preferred
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft (Purchasing System) i.e., creation of purchase orders a big plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, vlookup, pivot tables, macros)
  • Works independently on routine and non-routine research and reporting functions.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively at all levels
  • Minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience, preferably within a Wireless Network organization.
  • Minimum 2 years of cellular experience preferred
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Well organized, ability to multitask and prioritize the assignments as and when required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Team player
