Job summary

U-Haul is seeking an Assistant General Manager to take on increased responsibilities and help lead the day-to-day operations at our Whitehall center. You will work closely with a strong team to deliver exceptional customer service, manage shifts, and drive continuous learning through U-Haul University.

This role emphasizes leadership, hands-on problem solving, and ensuring a positive first impression for customers while supporting overall center performance and growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Leadership experience in any form is required.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Run daily operations of center in General Manager's absence.
• Make moment-to-moment decisions to allocate time and resources to appropriate projects.
• Manage and assign your team members to ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and the highest quality of care.
• Miscellaneous duties such as installing hitches, brake controllers, etc.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as, long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
