Job summary

Storm Lake Community School District is seeking an Assistant Middle School Boys Wrestling Coach to support the head coach in developing a competitive program that fosters student growth, teamwork, discipline, and school pride. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and high expectations for student-athletes both on and off the mat.

Responsibilities include skill instruction, conditioning, academic accountability, and clear communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

Must hold valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Coaching Endorsement.
Age at least 18 and a high school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification.
NFHS concussion training.
Mandatory reporter training.
Completion of an approved 55-hour coaching course.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a structured, competitive program aligned to district and state guidelines.
Teach sport-specific skills, strategy, conditioning, and teamwork.
Promote academic accountability and character development among student-athletes.
Establish clear expectations for conduct, sportsmanship, and effort.
Communicate effectively with athletes, families, staff, and the community.
Ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to district and athletic association policies.
Model professionalism, integrity, and positive leadership.
