Abbott Columbus, Ohio plant (Nutrition Division) is hiring a quality microbiology technician on the 3rd shift (8:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.).

You will apply high quality microbiological techniques to analyze raw ingredients, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring to ensure products meet safety and quality standards. This role requires a science-related associate degree with lab experience (or equivalent) and knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and

Qualifications

• Science-related Associate degree plus 1 year of college lab studies and 2 years of laboratory experience or 4 years in a food/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritionals.
• Experience in a food/pharmaceutical/medical device plant or hospital/medical lab.

Responsibilities

• Apply high quality microbiological techniques to analyze raw ingredients, in-process production samples, finished product testing and environmental monitoring to ensure all products manufactured are fit for use.
• Be able to work with fellow microbiologist with a high degree of motivation, attention to detail and clear communication within a small team.
• Prioritize tasks to efficiently complete with the most accurate results and communicate clearly in a team environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Apply high quality scientific techniques in the microbiological analysis of raw ingredients, in-process production samples, finished product testing and environmental monitoring, to ensure that all products manufactured are fit for use
• Be able to work with fellow microbiologist, with a high degree of motivation, attention to important details with clear communication to all team members. This is important due to the high degree of responsibility and working within a small group where each person is relied upon highly
• Prioritize tasks to efficiently be completed with the most accurate results, and to communicate clearly and work together in a team environment
• Product testing, Environmental testing, Raw ingredient testing

SHIFT

3rd shift, 8p - 6:30a

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Science related Associates degree, plus 1 year of appropriate college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics), plus 2 years of laboratory experience or 4 years’ experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals
• Experience working in food/pharmaceutical/medical device plant or hospital/medical lab.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Science related Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of appropriate college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics
