Job summary

SKIMS in Los Angeles HQ is seeking an Assistant Merchant to support our Clothing business. You will report to the Director of Merchandising and help develop seasonal assortments, analyze sales and trends, and submit purchase orders to partners.

Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Planning and Production to track milestones, maintain accurate product data and pricing, and prepare reports for seasonal reviews and cross-functional meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or apparel preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Netsuite +
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
• Passion for apparel merchandising and an understanding of the contemporary clothing market.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Merchandising in developing and executing seasonal clothing assortments aligned with SKIMS' brand and business objectives.
• Analyze weekly sales, inventory, and customer trends to provide insights that support assortment and merchandising decisions.
• Submit and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and timely communication with cross-functional partners and vendors.
• Partner with Design, Product Development, Planning, and Production teams to track product development milestones and key deliverables.
• Maintain accurate assortment information, product data, pricing, and merchandising documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare reports, assortment recaps, and presentations for seasonal reviews and cross-functional meetings.
• Conduct competitive research to identify market trends and opportunities within the apparel category.
